The Cottage Vineyard & Winery was established in 2013 when the original owners, Jim and Sandra Penner, brought their passion for vineyards and fine wines to North Georgia and planted the very first vine on The Cottages’s beautiful 29 acres of rolling hills. While Jim Penner served our country for over 20 years in the United States Air Force, the veteran's memorial wall was actually completed before the first tasting room. This wall is comprised of names of veterans honored by our customers from all around the country. Surrounded by flags of all military branches and first responders, it is a peaceful spot on the property to sit and enjoy a glass of wine….. especially at sunset!

With the help of our amazing friends and the loyalty of so many amazing customers, we are proud continue serving our community over a decade later. Our goal as a family is to show the same love and hospitality to each of our guests that we have been shown when we started this business over a decade ago.
Hello, my name is Christine. My husband Rob and I moved from Florida to Georgia 10 years ago with our 3 children. After falling in love with the area and the people we've come to call friends I found my home away from home at The Cottage. This year will mark 8 years with my Cottage family!
My name is John, I'm a father of 2 wonderful kids, and I've been with The Cottage now for 4 years. I grew up locally in Lumpkin County and have watched the wine industry grow into what it is today. I love interacting with our guests, and have come to find my work family at The Cottage
I have been managing The Cottage vineyard operation for almost 5 years now, and am excited to continue pushing forward in developing a healthy, beautiful, and sustainable vineyard for The Cottage. I can truly say that I love what I do, and am proud to be a part of The Cottage team!
Hey there, I'm Angela! I've been with The Cottage since the first month, over 11 years now! You might have seen me serving wine, managing the Tasting Room, coordinating on and off site events, and managing our Wine Club. After starting a little family of my own, I have now transitioned into hosting all of our special events here at the winery. No matter what field I'm in, my goal is always to build relationships and create lasting memories with our guests!
